Category definition
POS display stands are portable or permanently mounted structures characterised by freestanding stability. They are used to display promotional materials, products, or information at points of sale and in public spaces.
Three fundamental stand parameters
When designing and ordering display stands, all three parameters must be specified. Failure to define any one of them leads to operational problems.

Stand typology
Floor-standing displays
Freestanding constructions with a height of 100–220 cm. The most elaborate category of display stands.
| Parameter | Typical value |
|---|---|
| Height | 100–220 cm |
| Frame | Powder-coated steel / aluminium |
| Display elements | PMMA, PC, PVC |
| Stabilisation | Weighted base / floor anchors |
Applications: FMCG, pharmaceuticals, consumer electronics, automotive showrooms.
Countertop displays
Compact constructions designed for placement on counters and checkout desks. Height up to 50–80 cm.
- Smaller base footprint
- Lighter construction
- Often made entirely from plastics
- Designed for impulse products
Rotating displays
Constructions equipped with a 360° rotation mechanism. They allow product presentation from every angle without the customer having to move.
Rotation mechanism components
Applications: Cosmetics, stationery, jewellery, accessories.
Shelf stands
Multi-level constructions with horizontal display surfaces. Optimal use of vertical space.
- Fixed shelves — welded or permanently bolted
- Adjustable shelves — height change without tools
- Angled shelves — better product visibility
Applications: Beverages, household chemicals, cosmetics, books.
Hook stands
Peg-hook system for products with euroholes or hanging tabs. Construction based on perforated panels or hook rails.
- Single hooks — for lightweight products
- Double hooks — increased load capacity
- Hooks with blockers — prevent products falling off
Modular stands
Systems with a configurable construction and interchangeable elements. Ideal for seasonal campaigns and changing display needs.
Advantage
Modular stands allow reconfiguration without replacing the entire construction. Changing graphics or shelf layout takes only minutes.
Interchangeable elements:
- Graphic panels (UV print, vinyl)
- Shelves and pockets
- Hook modules
- Toppers and headers
Common customer mistakes
| Mistake | Description | Consequence |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Wrong environment | Indoor stands used outdoors | UV degradation, corrosion, mechanical damage |
| 2. Ignoring safety | Narrow base + tall display module | Instability, tipping risk |
| 3. Wrong load capacity | Underestimating product weight | Shelf deflection, structural collapse |
| 4. Poor graphic management | No TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) calculation | High running costs, difficult graphic replacement |
| 5. Missing technical spec | Ordering without defined parameters | Product not meeting expectations |
Safety warning
Mistake #2 (instability) can lead to legal liability in case of an accident. Before deploying a stand in a public space, verify its stability.
