FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Questions clients regularly ask about this topic.
What is the maximum acrylic thickness you can CNC mill?
We CNC mill acrylic up to 50mm thick. Our Z-axis travel is 200mm, allowing machining of thick blocks and 3D contours.
What tolerance does CNC milling achieve vs laser cutting?
CNC milling achieves +/-0.05mm tolerance, which is twice as precise as laser cutting (+/-0.1mm). CNC is preferred for precision-fit parts, threaded holes, and 3D machining.
Can you machine 3D shapes in acrylic?
Yes. Our CNC routers perform 2.5D and 3D machining including pocketing, chamfering, engraving, stepped profiles, and contoured surfaces.
What CNC machines do you use?
We operate two Kimla CNC routers: the BPF 2131 (2100x3100mm, 9kW spindle) and BPF 1541 (1500x4100mm, 7kW spindle), both with +/-0.05mm positioning accuracy.
Can you add threads and mounting holes?
Yes. We cut threads directly into acrylic and polycarbonate, drill precision mounting holes, and machine counterbores and countersinks for flush-mount hardware.
What file formats do you accept for CNC work?
We accept DXF, DWG for 2D profiles, and STEP, IGES, SAT for 3D machining. PDF technical drawings are accepted for quoting purposes.
