FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Questions clients regularly ask about this topic.
How fast can you produce a prototype?
Simple laser-cut prototypes can be produced within 24 hours. Complex assembled prototypes with CNC milling, bending, and bonding typically take 3-5 business days. Rush orders are available.
What materials can you prototype with?
We prototype in acrylic (PMMA), PET-G, polycarbonate, ABS, POM (Delrin), polystyrene, and other engineering plastics. Material selection depends on the prototype's functional requirements.
Can prototypes be made from the same material as the final product?
Yes. Unlike 3D printing which uses substitute materials, our CNC and laser prototypes use the actual production material. This means prototypes have identical optical, mechanical, and thermal properties to the final product.
What processes do you use for prototyping?
We combine CO2 laser cutting (+/-0.1mm), CNC milling (+/-0.05mm), line bending, hot forming, solvent bonding, UV bonding, threading, and diamond polishing. This allows us to produce fully functional assembled prototypes.
Can you go from prototype to production?
Yes. Our prototyping process uses the same CNC and laser equipment as production. Once the prototype is approved, we transition directly to production runs without retooling or process changes.
What file formats do you need for prototyping?
We accept DXF, DWG for 2D profiles, STEP and IGES for 3D models, and PDF technical drawings. We can also work from sketches, photographs, or verbal descriptions to develop production files.
